The problem it solves

What the Sound Insulation Pad fixes for you

Perforated panels that do little

Placed behind perforated wall and ceiling panels, it lifts their NRC.

Loud machines

Lines machine canopies for industrial noise control.

Noisy HVAC ducts

Duct and ventilation linings absorb mid and high-frequency noise.

Echo in auditoriums and theatres

Absorbs reflections for clearer sound.

Classrooms and lecture halls

Students hear speech more clearly.

Studio and home theatre reverb

Controls reflections in recording rooms and home theatres.

Soundproofing: the fix for every sound problem

3-layer soundproofing

  1. 1

    Layer 1: SoundBlanket® MLV

The dense barrier that isolates sound and stops it passing through walls, ceilings and floors.

  2. 2

    Layer 2: BassBloc®

High-density sound absorber over the MLV that controls low-frequency noise.

  3. 3

    Layer 3: Echsorbix®, SoundaXe® or WDWL®

The final acoustic finish: Echsorbix® PET felt, SoundaXe® wooden acoustics or WDWL® wood wool panels.

Layer 2 can also be covered with gypsum or cement board before adding the final acoustic layer.

Different thickness in each layer will give different STC and NRC levels.

FAQs

Questions about the Sound Insulation Pad

Who manufactures the Sound Insulation Pad in India?
MMTPL (Mahabir Multi Tech Private Limited) manufactures it at its Palwal plant in Haryana, India, and supplies studios, offices, cinemas and industrial sites in India and 25+ export markets.
What is the NRC of the Sound Insulation Pad?
The Sound Insulation Pad has an NRC of 0.80 at 25 mm, measured to ASTM C423. NRC is a single-figure average, so match the thickness to the frequency you need to control: thicker foam works lower down the spectrum.
What density is the foam?
The foam is high-density open-cell polyurethane at 32 to 50 kg/m³, which is what gives it absorption at mid and high frequencies rather than just at the top end.
What thicknesses are available?
From 10 mm to 750 mm on a 1800 x 900 mm (6 x 3 ft) sheet, so the pad can be matched to the frequency range and the cavity depth available.
Is the foam fire rated?
Standard grade is supplied non-FR. A UL 94 Class HS1 fire retardant grade is available on request, which is what most institutional, government and tender projects specify.
How is it installed?
It bonds directly to a clean wall with Turbo® SR Adhesive or spray adhesive, on paint, wood, plaster, metal or glass. No frame or sub-structure is needed.
